YUKI

YUKI steht für die beiden japanischen Künstlerinnen Maki Shimizu und Yuko Chikazawa. Seit vielen Jahren verbindet sie ihr gemeinsames Projekt "portraits of our friends" und in dieser Zeitspanne entstanden über 100 Holzschnitt-Portraits.Diese zeigt dieses Buch vollständig, zum Teil auch mit der Entwicklung von der Skizze hin zum fertigen Druck. Dazu erzählt Maki Shimizu die Geschichte der gemeinsamen künstlerischen Arbeit mit Yuko Chikazawa und wie die Portraits ihrer Freunde ihren Künstlerweg begleiteten.

YUKI stands for the two Japanese artists Maki Shimizu and Yuko Chikazawa. For many years, they have been working together on their joint project “portraits of our friends,” which has resulted in over 100 woodcut portraits. This book presents all of these portraits, some of them showing the development from sketch to finished print. Maki Shimizu also recounts the story of her artistic collaboration with Yuko Chikazawa and how the portraits of their friends have accompanied them on their artistic journey.
